Terms of Service (Service & Website)
Cal Coast Repair (“we,” “us,” “our”)
Effective date: [Month DD, YYYY]
1) Who we are; where we work
We provide small, non-structural home services across San Luis Obispo County, CA. Some work may be performed by employees or vetted subcontractors.
2) Scope of work (important for California)
-
We follow California rules for handyman work. We focus on small projects and standard replacements using existing hookups (no new plumbing/electrical lines or structural changes).
-
If a job requires a licensed contractor or permit, we’ll (a) refer you to a licensed pro or (b) coordinate with your chosen pro.
-
If we are licensed for any scopes, our CSLB #: [CSLB # if applicable] will appear on your invoice and site. If not licensed, we do not perform work that requires a license or permits.
3) Quotes, pricing & payment
-
Estimates: Any quote you receive (by text, email, or on-site) is an estimate based on information available. We confirm the price with you before we begin.
-
Hourly work: Unless a flat rate is listed, pricing is $75 for the first hour, then $18 per 15 minutes. After-hours/urgent windows may have a different first-hour rate.
-
Flat-rate items: For common installs (e.g., TV mount, faucet swap), we may publish a flat labor price that assumes typical access and conditions.
-
Materials/parts: Billed at cost unless otherwise noted.
-
Payment: Due on completion unless we agree otherwise. We accept [cash/cards/invoice]. Late balances may accrue a reasonable late fee and collection costs.
-
Trip fees: Waived in core SLO; modest fee may apply for far North/South County or repeat no-shows.
4) Scheduling, access & cancellations
-
Scheduling: We offer arrival windows and text updates when on the way.
-
Access: You agree to provide safe access (pets secured, areas cleared). If access isn’t available, we may charge a missed appointment fee of up to $59.
-
Reschedule/cancel: Please give 24 hours’ notice to avoid a $59 late-cancel fee. Weather or safety issues may require rescheduling.
5) Photos & documentation
We commonly take before/after photos to (a) diagnose, (b) document work, and (c) train staff. We may share them with you and store them for records. With your written permission, we may use photos (without your address or identifying info) in our portfolio.
6) Customer-supplied parts
We’re happy to install parts you provide if they’re suitable and safe. If a customer-supplied part fails or is incompatible, additional labor may apply. Manufacturer warranties are between you and the manufacturer.
7) Satisfaction, warranty & exclusions
-
We stand behind our workmanship on eligible small tasks for 30 days from completion. If something related to our labor needs attention, tell us and we’ll make it right.
-
Exclusions: Pre-existing conditions, hidden damage (e.g., rot, faulty wiring/plumbing), normal wear, misuse/accidents, and manufacturer defects are excluded. Some surfaces (e.g., fragile tile, aged drywall) may have a risk of damage; we’ll warn you if we see it.
8) Safety & right to refuse
We reserve the right to refuse or stop work if conditions are unsafe, unsanitary, illegal, or beyond our scope/licensing. You agree to maintain a safe environment while we’re on site.
9) SMS, calls & emails
By contacting us or booking service, you consent to receive communications about your requests, scheduling, and service. Message/data rates may apply. Reply STOP to SMS to opt out of marketing texts (transactional messages may still be sent).
10) Website terms
-

-
No guarantees: We don’t warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (loss of use, loss of data, lost profits), except where prohibited.
12) Disputes; venue
